150kg Per Drawer Flat File Cabinet 5 Drawer Heavy Duty — Full Extension Slides, No Sag, Even After Years of Use

Things You Don’t Think About Until It’s Too Late

A flat file cabinet seems simple. Until it isn’t.

Buy a wooden one, and two years later the drawers stick. Humidity got to it, the panels swelled, and now you’re yanking handles like you’re starting a lawnmower.

Buy a cheap steel cabinet from a listing that just says “heavy duty” and nothing else, and you’ll learn what that word doesn’t cover. Drawers that feel fine empty, but sag when loaded. Slides that let you pull 80% of the way, then catch — because the last 20% is where the flimsy part lives.

This one’s different.

150kg Per Drawer — Measured, Not Estimated

150kg per drawer. That is roughly the weight of two adults. Every drawer on this cabinet is built to hold that load at full extension. Not just tested once in a lab. Every batch gets one random drawer pulled out, loaded, and left under static weight for 48 hours before it ships.

The point isn’t that your blueprints weigh 150kg. The point is that when you fill a drawer with A0 drawings — architectural plans, site blueprints, road cross-sections, mechanical assembly diagrams — the weight adds up faster than you think. And if the rails aren’t spec’d for it, you notice within weeks.

Anti-Tip Without Anchors

Some cabinets use anchor bolts into the floor to stay upright. That works. Until you need to move the cabinet, and now you have holes in your floor and a mounting job ahead of you.

This cabinet doesn’t need anchors. The base is weighted. The drawer stops lock when fully extended. Open all five drawers at once — the cabinet stays put. Close a drawer, the lock releases automatically.

You get the safety without committing to a permanent spot on your floor plan.

Cold Rolled Steel, Not Hot Rolled

Hot rolled steel is cheaper. You see it on budget cabinets. The tradeoff: surface roughness, uneven thickness, paint that peels because there’s nothing for it to grip onto.

We use SPCC cold rolled steel. Smoother surface. Tighter thickness tolerance. Before powder coating, every panel goes through phosphate pretreatment — the metal gets etched at a microscopic level so the coating bonds into the surface, not just onto it.

That matters if your office is in a humid climate. Or if the cabinet spends a month in a shipping container crossing the ocean. No rust blooms waiting for the buyer at the other end.

What Happens When You Guess Wrong

We’ve had customers call after buying elsewhere. First cabinet was wood — looked nice, cost less. Twelve months in, drawers jammed, panels warped, replacement cost more than the original because freight rates went up. Then came the second try — cheap steel. Rails started groaning after a few months. Drawers that wouldn’t fully extend. Ended up using it as a shelf for office supplies, blueprints still rolled in tubes.

This isn’t about “you must spend more.” It’s that a cheap cabinet that doesn’t work costs you twice — once when you buy it, once when you replace it.

Who We Are

Factory in Luoyang, Henan, China. We’ve been making steel storage cabinets for over a decade. Domestic clients include hospitals, universities, and engineering contractors. Export clients across North America, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia.

Custom sizes, logo printing, branded packaging — all standard options. Cabinets aren’t rocket science, but the difference between one that works for 10 years and one that annoys you for 2 is in the material specs and how they’re built. Most people only learn that after buying the wrong one.
