Why 200kg per shelf doesn’t mean it’ll bend
Two things make this rack hold 200kg without warping.
First, the shelves have 4 reinforcement ribs pressed into the underside. They’re not flat sheets with folded edges — each shelf has 4 longitudinal grooves that act like hidden beams. Weight spreads across the ribs into the beams and uprights. Flat shelves without ribs start dipping in the middle after a few months under load. The ribs stop that from happening.
Second, it’s cold rolled steel, not hot rolled. Cold rolled is smoother, more dimensionally accurate, and harder. Hot rolled is cheaper — for the manufacturer. Tolerances are looser, the surface is rougher, and within a year the uprights may start to wobble where they join. The cost difference per rack is small. The difference in lifespan is not.
The coating is four steps, not one
Cheap racks get a single coat of spray paint. It chips, it smells, it rusts from the first scratch.
